Laurence offers a range of half-day and full-day workshops; the examples below have been run at venues across the south of England and Wales.

FLAX ROPE TRIVET (half day)
The perfect introduction to knot-based patterns, this half-day workshop incorporates the use of a Swedish fid to create a splice with the ends of the rope.
A finished trivet measures approximately 24cm in diameter.
KNOT BASKET (half day)
This knot-based basket builds on the techniques used for the trivet above, and can be taught sequentially with the trivet workshop for a full-day experience, or as standalone half-day workshop.
A finished basket measures approximately 14cm in diameter.
COILED BASKET (half day)
Using a coiling and stitching technique, this half-day workshop draws on age-old basketry techniques combined with Laurence's preferred medium of rope. Participants choose from a selection of pre-dyed rope and twine to personalise their design.
A finished basket measures approximately 12cm in diameter.
PLY-SPLIT BASKET (full day)
A full day workshop, using the less commonly known technique of ply-splitting to create a sturdy and functional basket. Participants choose from a selection of pre-dyed rope to personalise their design. Suitable for beginners, but requires a strong grip and dexterous hands.
A finished basket measures approximately 23 x 23 x 13cm.
